PHF announce european tour schedule

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Wednesday announced the programme of the national team’s forthcoming tour to Europe during which the green-shirts will feature in two back-to-back four-nation tournaments besides undergoing a training camp in the Netherlands.
Pakistan’s European tour will start from June 16 and will conclude with the training camp on July 17.
The European tour has been arranged as part of the national team’s preparations for this year’s Champions Trophy and the 2012 Olympics.
The squad will depart for Ireland on June 16 to take part in the UCD four-nation series to be played in University College Dublin from June 20 to 25. Besides Pakistan and hosts Ireland, the other countries taking part in the series are France and China.
From Ireland, the Pakistan squad will leave for Amstelveen/Netherlands to participate in the potentially tougher four-nation competition also involving hosts Netherlands, Germany and England. The tournament is scheduled to be staged from June 28 to July 2.
According to FIH world rankings Germany are number two, the Netherlands stand at three, England at four and Pakistan at eight.
In the final part of their Euro tour, the Pakistan team will attend a training camp in Amsterdam from July 3 to 17.
Schedule of tournaments:
In Ireland:
June 20: Pakistan v France.
June 22: Pakistan v China.
June 24: Pakistan v Ireland.
June 25: 3rd-4th position match and final.
In Amstelveen:
June 28: Germany v England, Pakistan v Netherlands.
June 29: England v Pakistan, Netherlands v Germany.
July 1: Germany v Pakistan, England v Netherlands.
July 2: 3rd v 4th, 1st v 2nd.
