San Fermin: The running of the bulls



San Fermin is an annual festival in Pamplona, Spain, best known for its daily running of the bulls. It kicked off on Wednesday with the traditional “Chupinazo” rocket launch and will run until July 14.  The festival gained popularity after it was mentioned in Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises. On an average, the festival attracts 1000, 000 people annually.Animal rights protesters lie covered in fake blood and black paint as they form the shape of a bull during a demonstration calling for the abolition of bull runs and bullfights, three days before the start of the famous running of the bulls San Fermin festival in Pamplona. -Reuters Photo
